Per the Spokesman-Review, Governor Gregoire is considering having state employees switch over to a 4-day workweek. That doesn't include teachers, but it's interesting to think about all the same.
How would teaching be impacted if your district switched to 4 longer days a week?

I'd love it! Let's lobby for it.
A better question may be "how would TEACHERS be impacted?" Truth be told, I think it is safe to assume that the vast majority of teachers would advocate for this. Happier, more rested teachers = better teaching. As always though, nothing is cut and dry, and just because it sounds like a great idea doesn't mean it is.
Hasn't Oregon tried that?
